Three persons, including one from Leh and two from Kargil, tested positive for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of active cases in the Union Territory of Ladakh to 48.
Meanwhile, as many as 48 COVID-19 positive patients have been discharged from hospitals after being treated successfully in Ladakh, which recorded the first fatality due to the disease earlier this week.
An official said that 23 samples were tested during the last 24 hours COVID-19 Labouratory at Chuchot Yokma. “Of these nine samples were from Leh and 14 from Kargil,” he said.
He said out of these, one sample from Leh and two from Kargil tested positive for COVID-19.
With this, he said the total number of COVID-19 cases have risen to 97. “The total number of active cases in the UT stands at 48, including 10 from Leh and 38 from Kargil,” he said.
He said on Friday a total of 244 samples have been sent to NCDC New Delhi for testing. “As many as 19 passengers and 141 drivers and helpers of trucks and tankers and light vehicles were screened at Khaltsi check post on Thursday,” he said, adding all the vehicles were sanitized.
